Comedy Improv is taking center stage Friday night in Marble Falls as the participants of MFHS's Fourth Annual Summer Theater Camp present fun and a comedic twist with the Chuckle Bucket Crew. Join the Crew and finally learn why the chicken crossed the road.

Marble Falls' students from 2 nd through 8th grade have been working their comedy chops every afternoon this week during the MFHS Summer Theater Camp. From 1 to 4 p.m., the kids have practiced their jokes and comedic timing. Patino reported that the students had an amazing time this week. The actors and burgeoning comedians were encouraged to crack up their classmates (and were applauded for d oing it) during the camp. Some of the class clowns even asked Patino if they could tell their parents to wait to pick them up so they could spend more time at camp perfecting their show.

"We're hoping the highlight of the show will be what Art Linkletter was known to say: 'Kids say the darndest things'," said Martha Patino, Theater Camp organizer. "This week the campers have had the opportunity to participate in four workshops emphasizing spontaneity, narration and characterization, pantomime, and improvisation. The results of their efforts will be showcased Friday night. It should be a fun and memorable night for all in attendance."

The kids are taking their comedy seriously. Overheard during rehearsal: "Knock, knock" "Who's there?" "No one!" "No one who?" "No one, really, I'm working on a joke." "Dude, it's not very funny. I think your timing is off!"

Due to the work this month on the water main serving Marble Falls High School, this s ummer's Theater Camp presentation will be on stage in the Marble Falls Middle School Cafetorium, June 22 nd, at 7 p.m. Parking is available in front of the Middle School and on the west side near the gym entrance. Audience members are asked to enter the building through the front main entrance for the show. Everyone is encouraged to come and laugh. Admission is free.
